SOON . made me hungry just talking about it lol
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I am always looking for a restaurant that gives a diner feel where "real" home cooked style food is served. Seahorse delivered 100%! The prices are also fantastic. My husband had the Friday special shrimp plate with 2 sides. I had the 2 piece white meat fried chicken with 2 sides and an iced tea. We also purchased 6 slices of cake and a banana pudding. Our bill was only $66! My chicken was perfectly seasoned and fried crispy. It arrived piping hot! My sides of cabbage and mac-and-cheese were good as well. Most places serve flavorless mac-and-cheese that is creamy but watery and flavorless. I get the feeling Seahorse mac-and-cheese was baked, it was rich, thick and flavorful. The cabbage was perfect, tender but not mushy, and also well seasoned. I don't usually order sweet tea when I go to restaurants but I was in the mood for it today so I did and it was really good. It wasn't watered down and wasn't too sweet, it was just right. My husband loved his shrimp, fried okra, and steak fries. We got alot of cake but have only tried a few. The texture of the cakes were great in my opinion. I liked the coconut but feel like most of the coconut flavor was coming from the icing and not the cake. I'm not a fan of the pineapple cake but it may have been that the filling and icing was too cold. I'm going to give it another try when it's not straight out of the fridge cold. My husband loved the death by chocolate cake. He especially loved the mini chocolate chips on the icing. The service was quick and friendly although I could tell they were super busy and were feeling it. All the tables in the main room were full when we arrived and the side rooms started to quickly fill up later. The waitresses kept up with everything and were constantly going from table to table and in and out the kitchen! Please tip these ladies (and gentlemen if there are some) well because they definitely earn it! 10/10 highly recommend if you want a home cooked meal that doesn't break the bank or skimp on portion size.
I was told by a coworker how good this place was, so I wanted to try it out for a while now. We got there at 8 and hoped it wasn't too late (they closed at 9 and some places quit seating at certain times), we were seated, no problem. The food was really good. The fish and shrimp were both well cooked and good tasting. The waitress was very nice and kept checking on us. The cakes are also very good. You get a large slice, and they have a big selection of cakes. Also the prices are cheaper than other restaurants if the same type.
Great food,,,great taste,,,great service... prices are great on the specials. B b q chicken is done realy good..steaks and mamas cakes are delicious.. some things are a bit pricey. But that's expected these days
Was in town for a conference and found this gem. Good food, great service and amazing cakes! We had the butter pecan and strawberry. Both yummy
Delicious food at comfortable prices. It's fresh and tasty. Seating is comfortable, too. It's a nice, relaxed place. I've had attentive, cordial service. I love seafood, and there's a limited but good selection. The broiled shrimp were my favorite--fresh, tender, and judiciously seasoned. The fried oysters were flavorful. I'd eat there 2 or more times a week if I lived in Greenville. Thursday nights have been crowded. One may wait or dine amongst many. Don't delay getting there on that night. The tea is delicious, as are the hush puppies, baked potatoes, and fresh cooked and seasoned spinach. The ceiling fans cool when it's hot, and their circling adds to the relaxed ambiance. There are numerous, scrumptious-looking and a little costly fresh-baked cakes on display, but I'm waiting until my birthday to try one. I loved it there. Please don't go too much; give others smiled chance!
